Yesterday, an individual came to me and said that they didn’t believe that material wealth, greed, or ego was the right way to live one’s life. Specifically, they told me that they didn’t want to lead a life which just revolves around them. They wanted to make a difference in the world for everyone, for all of society, and they wanted to help the less fortunate.

Not all, but a good number of Democrats in the US are really socialists, especially in their thinking. Although most deny it because “socialism” has been a bad word ever since Hitler and Mussolini rose to power and caused WWII – still, these Democrats are practicing socialism and their political leaders have put forth a number of policies and passed many laws which shed some light on their true intentions. Can socialism work in the United States?

We know that humans are social and we know that humans are animals, and we can also tell that humans are social animals. We see this throughout history and it is very evident in our current society, and with the online social networks. It’s also rather obvious in our families, work, sports, and activities.

One of the few doors left open to minorities, disadvantaged, and high risk groups is being closed at a time when we need the productivity only an educated work force can provide. In the nineteen nineties we virtually closed universities to them, and in the decades that followed, the doors of community colleges squeaked close. Their last bastion of hope, for profit institutions, are now closing their doors in response to new government mandates.

My inspiration has stemmed from my own family, my mother, inspirational leaders such as Mahath Ma Gandhi who have made a momentous impact in lives, even reading books from religion & spirituality has broadened my horizon to the different wonders of life and inspired me to make a small change in my community for the better to help improve quality of life everywhere. My vision of a peaceful and harmonious world is everyone realizing their true identity, self-awareness in addition to their strong morals and values in society to make us unified as one big family.
