Friendship – A One-Sided Coin
What does ‘friend’ mean to you? Is it someone who would never give away your whereabouts under torture? Someone who would donate a kidney to you? Someone who would even die for you? If so, then perhaps you are less reasonable than you might think.
Accessible and ADA/ADAAG Compliant Playground DesignAccessible playgrounds means access for everyone and all-inclusive designs do bring communities closer together. Much still needs to be written about this often overlooked subject and in the 21st Century the time has come to include playground design in the discussion of 100% accessibility. For society to evolve we must consider the needs of all our citizens – not just those who have all the advantages. We no longer use the word “handicap” but refer to those with a disability as a “person with a disability.” Playgrounds should be for everyone, including the parents or grandparents who happen to also be wheelchair bound. This article opens up our eyes and ears to the world that has always existed around us but without the real recognition is deserves. We are all the same and share the same needs – even on the playground.

Between the Sheets, What One Should Not Say to the Store Clerk!I’m not speaking of normal everyday run of the mill back pain and arthritis, but a more in depth acknowledgement of their lives. Personally I am a very open person, I pretty much talk about anything, but it’s always in an environment that is suitable for the topic. Why Does Society So Enjoy Censorship of Those Things They Are Afraid to Discuss? In some regards, the Internet is kind of cool, as you can go look at whatever you want, and skip the stuff that you don’t. All of my friends seem to love to read the sports section of the newspaper, and they throw away the business and arts section. I personally don’t read the sports, because at one time I was an athlete, and I much prefer playing sports much more than reading what someone else did, but that’s just me, others who played sports perhaps in high school and college are so into it that they never miss a day. But isn’t that what makes America so great?

In Part One of this series on Toronto, I reflect on St. James Cathedral Church and its vital role in our social fabric.
A Sports Fan’s Favorite ColorPhiladelphia Eagles quarterback, Donovan McNabb recently proclaimed that African American quarterbacks receive “greater scrutiny” than their white counterparts do. Having raised the question on several college campuses, and as an African American, the truth is that sports fans of all ethnic groups tire of the great race-related cloud that seemingly never stops hanging over our sporting world and certainly, our country. Racial prejudice and racial tension is in no way unique to America, however, given our painful history with regard to human and civil rights, one would think that we would collectively focus on a more united, and tolerant future.
