A New Approach to American History

While we look at American history as a part of the European history and the European history as a part of the world history, not only it gives us a wider and broader perspective to American history but also it sets us free from looking at the history based on the idea of nation-state which leads us to ignore the peoples who were not a nation. It helps us not to ignore and neglect the ethnic groups.

Israel Vs Iran: Who Would Win a Middle East War? Would God Save Israel? Is This ‘Gog and Magog’?

Israel vs. Iran (with other nations vying for a voice) is a major event on everyone’s mind. After all, the whole world is affected by what occurs in the Middle East, and especially with Israel. After many hundreds of years, Israel became an independent nation, almost miraculously, in 1948. And since then she’s won wars in 1956, 1967, 1973 and 1982. Many say GOD is still honoring his covenant with Israel today, and that Israel can’t lose in a war because of God’s involvement. Is this true?

Secret Silbury – The Age Old Question

Can we honestly and confidently date the Pyramids, Stonehenge and the many other ancient monuments throughout the world to around 5,000 years old? At the recent MARLBOROUGH MOUND TRUST 5TH ANNUAL LECTURE, in the Ellis Theatre at Marlborough College, Jim Leary gave a lecture titled ‘The Marlborough Mound and the other Giants of Wessex’. Jim, who was the chief archaeologist on the English Heritage Silbury Hill Conservation and Restoration Project in 2007/2008, reiterated his views that Silbury Hill is indeed a 4,400 year old mound. It was built in phases that grew and grew as each basket load of material was piled on top of the previous pile, but not to any predefined architectural blueprint. His idea endorses the conventional view for the age and construction of Silbury Hill.

A Walk To The Supermarket: Observations On Human Nature

As we all are aware, even if we would never admit it, the human being is the nastiest species on this pale blue dot of a planet. In fact, if there is any species that really needs culling, it’s the human species. If I needed any reminding of this, all I need to do is take a daily walk to the supermarket, and I’m guaranteed to see, albeit in microcosm, the worst that humanity has to offer.

Socialism and the American People – How Much More of This Can They Take?

When I say that progressives are not progressive, but rather they are regressive, I say that because socialism has never worked in the history of mankind in any nation it has ever been taken to. Oh sure, it works okay in the short term if there is good growth rate, but Lord help that nation if they have a demographic shift, or come onto hard economic times where they can no longer deliver to the people what they had promised, and there just isn’t enough wealth amongst the wealthy to squeeze out anymore. Still, when I use that “S-word”…

Competition Is for Losers

The title of this article will appear as anathema for the millions of us who have been accustomed to hearing the aggressive management-speak of the last twenty or so years this is so often fond of paraphrasing the principals of Darwinian evolution into distorted cliche’s like ‘only the strongest survive’. We have been so bludgeoned by endless repetition of this dogma that few of us are capable of questioning it, but the time to question it is now.

How to Buy Conflict Free Diamonds and Not Blood Diamonds

What are Blood Diamonds? Conflict diamonds, sometimes called blood diamonds, are stones sold by rebel and terrorist groups to fund armed conflicts and rebellions against legitimate governments. During the last 15 years, the illicit trade of blood diamonds has been most prevalent in central and West African nations, and affected mainly Sierra Leone, Angola, Liberia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Ivory Coast.

Are Humans Afraid of Having Too Much Time on Their Hands – Afraid to Think?

We live in one of the most innovative societies on this planet and for sure the greatest nation ever created in the history of mankind, and yet perhaps we haven’t too easy, because it appears to me that most of the folks in this great society have turned their minds off. That’s right, and I have observed this throughout our nation, as I have traveled to every single city in the United States, over a seven year period. What I have found while sitting in coffee shops, and talking to regular folks, is that many people have just stopped thinking….

What Spiritual Lessons Can We Learn From Australian Aborigine Culture?

It has been suggested that the Australian Aborigine is primitive and uneducated; an animist who uses ritual to win the favour of the spirits controlling food, shelter, and fertility and to ward off malevolent forces. Despite what sounds to the western mind as believing in superstition, these semi-nomads have shown enormous intelligence by hunting and foraging for food, and thus surviving, in extreme conditions of the arid bush-land and desert wastes for over 30,000 years. Full-blooded Aborigines in their natural state live in and are influenced by both the physical world and also by what they think of as a spirit world (dreamtime). Their spiritual values have been reflected in a rich oral tradition of legend and ritual going back to ancient times, unaffected by the major world religions. And so the question arises whether there is anything of value in their way of life which can benefit us all today?

Who Took My Bus Stop?

Being an online article writer, I like to sit at Starbucks and do a little writing, but I also like to mix it up a little and go to different Starbucks on different days. Not long ago, I went to a Starbucks which had a bus stop across the parking lot. I was talking to a gal who generally used public transportation, although she admitted riding her bicycle to places which were less than 1 mile away, or walking to the grocery store.
